MultiCamCutter

Privacy

Short and honest: MultiCamCutter processes your footage entirely on your Mac — none of it is uploaded. This page explains what data is created at all, and how you stay in control of it.

Processing on your device

The actual work — reading in cameras and mic tracks, syncing, cutting and producing the AAF timeline — runs 100% offline on your Mac. Your raw footage and the finished timeline never leave your machine. There is no cloud upload and no server-side processing of your content.

Anonymous usage data (telemetry)

So we can improve the automatic detection and gauge how fast a run is on which hardware, the app can send anonymous usage data. This is opt-in and off by default: you are asked on first launch and can turn it off again anytime in Settings.

Only numbers and fixed enumerated values are ever sent — never names, file paths or content:

  • Project size: the number of cameras, microphones and speakers, and the lengths of the sources.
  • Runtime: how long a run took in total and per processing step.
  • Settings: the editing parameters used (values and switches) and the name of a built-in preset — your own presets appear only as “custom”.
  • Device: Mac model, chip architecture, core count, memory and macOS version.

Each record carries a random identifier generated solely for telemetry — it cannot be linked to your license, your email address or your device. No IP address is stored. The data lives in our own database in the EU (Frankfurt); no third-party tracking service is involved.

Because this data is anonymous, it cannot be tied to a person. If you would rather not send anything, simply leave telemetry off (or switch it off) — then nothing is transmitted.

Licensing and payment

When you buy a Pro license, payment is handled by our payment provider LemonSqueezy (Merchant of Record). LemonSqueezy processes your payment and billing data and emails you the license key; we do not store card details ourselves. To unlock, the app validates your license key online — the key and a device identifier are sent to license validation, but no footage. LemonSqueezy's privacy notice applies in addition.

Bug reports and feedback

When you send a bug report or feedback from the app, we turn it into an entry in our GitHub project. The content you submit — a description, optionally your email address and, if you agree, a technical log — is transmitted to GitHub in the process. This only happens when you actively submit a report.

Website

This website is hosted on Vercel. As with any website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary server access data. On the website itself we use no tracking cookies and no analytics pixels.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of your personal data, as well as a right to object. For personal data around purchase and support, contact us or the respective provider. The anonymous usage data cannot be attributed to a person and therefore cannot be individually retrieved or deleted — you control it via the telemetry switch in the app.
