The rough cut,
on autopilot.
MultiCamCutter turns your camera clips and mic tracks into an editable AAF timeline — synced, cut to whoever's speaking, with reaction cuts and trimmed pauses. Assembled exactly the way you cut.
Cuts on reactions
Nods and laughs are spotted in the picture and edited in — human pacing, not a loudest-mic switch.
Synced on its own
Every camera and mic is aligned by audio-waveform matching. No clapper, no manual line-up.
Tuned to how you cut
Shot lengths, reaction feel, pauses, cutaways — every parameter is yours to shape.
How it works
A folder in. A finished cut out.
Point it at a folder
Drop in your camera clips and one mic track per person. That's how it knows who's speaking.
It assembles the cut
Sync, speaker detection, reaction cuts, pause trims and cutaways — all to your parameters.
Finish in your editor
Export the AAF and do the creative fine-tuning in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Avid.
Everything the rough cut needs, nothing it doesn't.
Automatic conversation cut
Point it at your footage and it assembles the whole rough cut — cutting to whoever's speaking, trimming pauses and loosening long takes with cutaways.
Automatic sync
Every camera and microphone is aligned automatically by audio-waveform matching. No clapperboard, no manual line-up.
100% local & offline
Nothing is uploaded. Your footage never leaves your Mac — no cloud, no waiting, and real privacy for sensitive conversations.
Folder in, AAF out
No editor lock-in. MultiCamCutter exports a non-destructive AAF timeline you fine-tune in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Avid or any AAF-capable editor.
Built for podcasts & interviews
Purpose-built for multi-person conversations — host, guests and wide shot — not a generic multicam tool bent onto a talk format.
Always up to date
MultiCamCutter checks for updates automatically and flags new versions — detection improvements and presets install with a click, no manual reinstall.
Questions, answered.
Which editor do I use the result in?
MultiCamCutter exports a non-destructive AAF timeline — an edit list, not a rendered video. You open it in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Avid or any AAF-capable editor and do the creative fine-tuning there.
Is there a free version?
Yes. The Free tier has the full feature set, but the longest source file is capped at 30 minutes. Without a license the app runs in the Free tier right away — no credit card required. For longer recordings, subscribe to Pro.
Does my footage get uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs 100% locally on your Mac — no cloud, no upload, no waiting. Your material never leaves the machine, which keeps even sensitive conversations private.
What happens when my subscription ends — and does the app update itself?
When a subscription ends, the app falls back to the Free tier (30-minute limit) — you keep working, nothing is deleted. And on updates: MultiCamCutter checks for new versions automatically and lets you know as soon as one is ready — you then install it with a single click.

v0.6.10 · macOS · Apple Silicon · 385 MB
- — macOS 14 Sonoma or later
- — Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer)
- — A separate microphone track per person (lavalier / individual mics)
- — An AAF-capable editor for the final cut (e.g. Premiere Pro)
Fixed: reaction cuts (head nods, interjections) sit exactly on the reaction again
In some recordings, part of the reaction cuts — head nods especially — were placed only after the reaction was already over, so the cut landed on a motionless person. The cause was the image-recognition filter ("move unsuitable cutaways"), which in rare cases wrongly shifted those moments. Reaction cuts are no longer shifted by it — they stay exactly on the detected moment. The filter stays active for camera switches during long passages, and is a little more conservative overall.
Fixed: occasional single-frame fragments in the timeline
In a few spots, tiny fragments could remain between two cuts — a brief flash of the base camera. These are now removed reliably.
